Will Crain is a lifelong resident of the Northshore, having been born and raised in Washington Parish. He was born in 1961 and lived in Franklinton until he was six. He and his family then moved to Bogalusa where he graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1979. He is the second of four children born to Hillary J. "Buddy" Crain, a 22nd Judicial District Court judge and First Circuit Court of Appeals judge from this district for 27 years, and Mary Wright Crain, both from Franklinton.


In high school, Will was active in sports as well as student government. He was named to Who's Who in American High Schools in 1979. He attended Louisiana State University where he obtained a degree in accounting in 1983 and a law degree in 1986. While attending LSU he worked as a legislative aide to the Louisiana State Budget Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.



Will began his law practice in 1986 with the firm of Jones Fussell in Covington and soon became their lead trial lawyer and a full partner in the firm where he continues to practice law today. His work is primarily trial work with extensive courtroom experience including successful jury trials in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana. Will has been married to Cheri Hackett Crain for 23 years and they have four children, all still in school. They are active members of St. Timothy on the North Shore United Methodist Church, where Will has taught adult Sunday school and was a member of both the Board of Trustees and the Staff/Parish Relations Committee. Will has served the community and his profession with years of coaching youth sports teams, membership on the board of the Youth Services Bureau, lecturing on the law, and serving as president of the Greater Covington Bar Association as well as various law school and bar association committees. Will would like to serve his community full-time as a judge and is a candidate for Division G, of the 22nd Judicial District (St. Tammany and Washington Parishes).
